Pretshila hill is one of the most popular tourist sites in Gaya, Bihar, and is adjacent to Ramshila hill. Several Hindu devotees visit the place to pay homage/Pinda Daan to their ancestors in order to liberate their souls and provide them with last repose. Devotees also take a holy plunge in Brahma Kund, which is regarded heavenly, before conducting the Pind Daan rituals.

According to legend, a demon was dissatisfied with the miseries brought on by death, so he prayed to Lord Vishnu and expressed his grief. After hearing the demon's dissatisfaction, Lord Vishnu bestowed upon him the ability to forgive individuals and their faults. As a result of these beliefs, devotees from all over the country come to pay their respects to their ancestors in order for their souls to rest in peace.

The Bodhi tree, where Lord Buddha obtained Nirvana-enlightenment, the Phalgu River Ghats, and the Narmada Mata shrine are all noteworthy sights near Pretshila.
