Zojila Pass in the Indian Himalayas is one of the most important and famous mountain passes of the world. Located 9 kms from the town of Sonmarg in the state of Jammu & Kashmir, the pass is located in the western Himalaya section on the Srinagar-Leh National Highway 1D.

The Zojila Pass lies at an altitude of 11649 feet and is threshold to Leh. It is the link between Kashmir and Leh and is the second highest mountain pass after Fotu La Pass on NH1D between Srinagar and Leh in India. The pass mostly remains closed in winters due to heavy rainfall.

The Travelers while going through the pass get to experience the beautiful Sonmarg at the back and the Drass Valley in the front. This pass is instrumental in connecting Ladakh to the rest of the world thus acting as its lifeline.
