Swayambhu Ganpati Temple is one of the most famous temples in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. This temple is 4000 years old and is a major attraction for tourists. This temple looks beautiful at sunrise and sunset, also known as ‘Paschim Dwar Devta’ and is remains among the most visited attractions in the district. This temple was built of pule which is white sand and is believed to be self-created. 

Swayambhu Ganpati Temple is about 40km from the town of Ratanagiri town and it’s open every day in a week - 5:00am to 9:00pm in a day. The temple is dedicated to Lord Ganapati and the idol of the God is kept inside. There is one more idol of the God inside the temple, which is made of copper. Those who visit it feel a sense of piety and also hear the rhythmic beat in early in the morning.

An early morning visit to the temple means you can feel the spiritual ambiance and the sound of nagara. In the evening, the cloths of the God are changed and then the chaughadas rhythms fill the environment with lot of piousness and piety.  You can also visit the nearest Ganpatipule beach of Maharashtra. Ganesh Chaturthi is a famous festival of this temple.
