Swami Pushkarini Lake is a holy water tank located within the premises of world famous Sri Venkateshwara Temple or Tirupati Balaji Temple. This temple is situated in the hill town of Tirumala in Tirupati in the Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh. The lake is considered highly auspicious and the devotees take bath here before going into the temple. The waters of the lake are believed to be as holy as the Ganges.

 Many pilgrims even believe that all their sins washes away and they get salvation after taking a dip in this pious lake. As per the legends the deity of the Temple-Lord Venkateshwara along with his wife used to take bath in this holy pond. The wooden float festival known as Teppotsavam conducted during the annual festival of Brahmotsava is organized in this lake.

Apart from religious visits, the Pushkarini is also a major tourist’s attraction in the state of Andhra Pradesh, as it provides an opportunity to experience spiritual beliefs being personified. To visit the splendid Pushkarini, you must reach Tirupati to finally land on to Tirumala. Tirupati is well connected via all means of Transport. The nearest airport is Renigunta International airport, which is 15 kms from Tirupati. The nearest rail head is Tirupati.
