Located in Clement Town near Dehradun, the Mindrolling Monastery is one of the six major monasteries of the Nyingma school of Buddhism. It’s a famous monastery of the region and was established in 1965. At present, it is home to Ngagyur Nyingma College, which is considered one of India’s largest Buddhist institutes. Its architecture matches the Japanese style and it is a major center of attraction for Buddhist followers and international tourists.

The Mindrolling is a well-known landmark for peace lovers and spirituality-seekers in Dehradun. It’s also known for its creative interiors, beautiful architecture and peaceful surrounding. Built with the aim to promote Tibetan culture in India, it has the largest collection of Buddha painting and statues. This temple is open to all people and anyone can visit and enjoy peace and feel bliss.  

The Mindrolling was built by one of the oldest of four major schools of Tibet Buddhist and the other three schools are called Geluk, Kagyu and Sakya. These schools have a great importance in the Tibetan religion. This monastery’s design was the result of the efforts put in by around 50 artists, who took 3 years to complete it. Here, there is a shop full of books, most of books written in Tibet language.
