Khajuraho Group of Monuments are located in Chattarpur district of Madhya Pradesh and considered a pinnacle of Indian architectural grandeur. Built by the Chandela rulers between 950 to 1050 AD, the erstwhile monuments included a total of 85 temples in total but now they are only 20 in number. Considered perhaps the greatest masterpiece of ancient Indian art, they are less popular for any religious significance and rather more for stunning carvings and designs displayed on the temple walls.

Khajuraho Group of Monuments are a 10th century architectural gem which are now included in the list of one of the WORLD HERITAGE SITE. The temples are matchless in terms of artistic excellence and that’s why they are globally popular. Some of the complexes there are dedicated to Jainism beliefs while the majority of them belong to Hinduism. So, those in the western complex belong to Hindu deities while those in the eastern, to JainaTirhankars.

Khajuraho Groups of Monuments are the zenith of sculptor and art and although they are dedicated to two different religions, visitors can easily find a common typology among them. These temples are a perfect balance between architecture and sculpture and are splendidly carved to enjoy the celebrated status among historians, architects and visitors alike. They are one of historical and architectural gems of India and you must visit it someday for sure.
