The man-made Hussain Sagar Lake is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the historic city of Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. Located just 2km away from the heart of the city, this largest artificial lake in Asia links two parts of the city - Secunderabad and Hyderabad - to each other. On the tributary of River Musi, it was built to meet the water needs of the city apart from providing for irrigation purposes.

The Hussain Sagar Lake beautifies the city and lend it charm, and not to forget, its historical connections make a favorite among visitors. As per the historical records, the Mughals and Golconda signed a treaty on the banks of this very lake. A huge statue of Lord Buddha, weighing some 350 tons and having a height of 16 m, stands right at the middle of the lake.
