The Hazratbal Mosque is situated in Srinagar, the capital of Jammu & Kashmir. This mosque is the most famous and revered Muslim shrine in Kashmir, as it is this place where the sacred hair of Prophet Mohammad is preserved till date and is displayed publically during special occasions. Positioned on the left bank of Dal Lake, the mosque oppositely faces Nishatbagh. Special prayers are offered on Fridays which are attended by scores of devotees.
